HCG Diet Stabilization
The Stabilization period for the HCG Diet is very important. Also called phase 3. This is the 3 week period after you finish a cycle of the HCG Diet. This is where you should be very careful not to eat starches and sugars. Why? Because you just lost a lot of weight and the body is readjusting. This is where your hypothalamus gland gets reset and the body decides what you should normally weigh. Dr. Simeons says that it takes about 3 weeks for your weight to stabilize and if you go more then 2 pounds over what you weighed when you stopped the HCG then you need to do what is called a steak day.
What is a steak day on the HCG Diet?
Dr. Simeon states:
“they must on that same day [of the morning you saw the gain] entirely skip breakfast and lunch but take plenty to drink. In the evening they must eat a huge steak with only an apple or a raw tomato. Of course this rule applies only to the morning weight
The next morning when you weigh you should be down again. This is where people gain weight back if they get lazy and do not take this part seriously.
How Does the HCG Diet Stabilize Your Weight?
The good Dr. also states:
“It takes about 3 weeks before the weight reached at the end of the treatment becomes stable, i.e. does not show violent fluctuations after an occasional excess. During this period patients must realize that the so-called carbohydrates, that is sugar, rice, bread, potatoes, pastries etc, are by far the most dangerous. If no carbohydrates whatsoever are eaten, fats can be indulged in somewhat more liberally and even small quantities of alcohol, such as a glass of wine with meals, does no harm, but as soon as fats and starch are combined things are very liable to get out of hand.“
So you can see why it is very important to be very careful during this period of the HCG Diet. When in doubt stick to the strict protocol of the HCG diet as you will hear me say a lot.
